Change control should connect risk to implementation evidence
A useful change assessment identifies what could be affected, what evidence is needed before implementation, who must approve the change, and what post-implementation checks are required. Regulatory reporting and filing decisions should be evaluated separately by qualified regulatory personnel.
Frequently asked questions
Does the score tell me if a change is major or minor for regulators?
No. The score is an internal prioritization aid. Regulatory reporting categories depend on the product, market, filing and applicable requirements.
Can I implement once all checkboxes are complete?
Not automatically. Required approvals and site procedures still govern implementation.
CALCULATION GUIDE
Understand your calculation
Clear inputs, a practical example and the context you need to interpret your result.
How it works
The displayed impact score is the sum of 12 selected levels: None=0, Low=1, Medium=2, High=3, for a maximum of 36. Domains have equal weight.
Inputs and units
Enter an ID, proposed change and justification. Select each impact and add rationale for every nonzero level. Mark the eight prerequisites only when supporting evidence exists.
Worked example
One High domain (3) and two Medium domains (2 each), with the other nine None, gives 7/36 and one high-impact domain. Six checked prerequisites leave two open.
Interpreting the result
Assess change generates a summary when required information is complete. Copy assessment copies the current draft; all eight checks change readiness to “Prerequisites complete”.
Assumptions and limitations
The sum is an internal screening aid, not a validated risk model or regulatory change classification. Checkboxes do not grant approval. The workspace does not persist the draft; retain the copied report in your approved system.
